My acer 5734z starts up but can barely see the logo

My acer 5734z starts up fine but I can barely see the pics on screen. Was wondering if there is a way to adjust the brightness without seeing the screen or if there is a way to reset without loosing my important pics plz help

Have you already tried holding the Fn key while tapping the up arrow on the keyboard?
