I had the same problem. Spoke to Acer technology found in Argos catalogue as I bought the laptop only three weeks ago. It was corrected easily by turning the laptop over to the other side. There you will see a very tiny pin-hole, just above the Acer black label. Get needle and push gently through the hole. You will feel a "bounce" when it reaches the bottom. Remove needle. turn on your power button and you should be able to proceed. It worked for me.
