My Acer Aspire won't go beyond the welcome screen, cant even get the log on screen to open? The mouse works

My computer will come on however I get to the log on screen there is a message stating Windows Update Sign in and install important updates however; I cannot even get logged in does not get me to log in screen. Help! Control Alt Delete does not work.

Hi. Try to start it in SAFE mode. If you can, try a system restore to a time before this started.
