My Acer Aspire Won't Start Unless The Power Cord is Plugged In

My Acer Aspire 5550 laptop will not start unless the power cord is plugged into the computer, no matter if the battery pack is in the computer or not. This can't be normal.

Is the battery charged ? or does it charge?
Sometimes dead or dying batteries prevent laptop booting

Clearly with no battery you need mains power

Replacement battery's from chinese websites are very cheap but delivery times may be slow compared to those in your country

I would avoid any website which does not give the address of the company
( i have been looking for a HP laptop battery with prices from £12 to £30 + postage from chinese websites which use .co.uk website address )
