Solved! My acer laptop's keyboard just stopped workin

I left my laptop on for SME time and when I came back and restarted it the keyboard would not work

Model/SKU for your Acer laptop? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your laptop's motherboard? What OS are you working on? See if the keyboard works when you use the On Screen Keyboard utility or keyboard tester.

The on screen keyboard works but when i try to attach an external key board it dosent work

That's not a good a sign as it may mean the keyboard controller has packed in inside the laptop.
