So I have been using my asus notebook D550CA for about 3 years now with no unfix able problems until now. Recently my computer stopped working without a battery so it would have to be plugged in whenever I used it... not really a big deal. But now I turn my computer on and the screen literally does not light up what so ever. The light on the computer that represents the computer is on turns on but the computer itself won't turn on. I know a little bit about computers so I'm 99% sure its nothing obvious that would work. I took the whole thing apart took out the battery and did the 30 seconds fix but that did not work once I put it back together it is exactly how it was before. All help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may in solving the issue.
- First is to do another hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
- If this will not work, do test the AC adapter if it's working properly. Remove the battery and power the laptop with just the AC adapter connected and see if it will boot up or not. do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work or not.
- Proceed with reseating the RAM's if trying a different AC adapter will not work, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- If it will still not work, connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it. If there's a display on the external monitor that could mean that the problem is the built in display.
- But if there's still no display on the external monitor that means the problem lies in the motherboard.
