My bios say the computer warranty expired in the store on the shelf.

I am a VAR/ISV, and a friend of mine ask me to reconfiger his new Wallmart purchased $400 PC/;GATEWAY so I said let's look at the bios. What! Look your laptop warranty has expired. And he said "My bios say's the computer warranty expired in the store on the shelf"! Why would someone create such an app? It was 3rd Party BIOS. Every retail consumer isn't dumb/ignorant. Why? Disposable Laptops! What? Eddie J

Probably some would be scared enough to run it in for some work that won't be necessary.

What about the 3rd party bios with the app built in? It expired on the shelf. And was sold as new. From a popular retail store. He purchased it after the experation date.
