My cartridge is not working

Hello,
i've got a epson sxk235w printer and i'm trying to replace a different make ink cartridge into it, and it won't let me as they are not epson cartridge.!!
how can i get around this.?

Check the site of where you bought the cartridge from, the should have instructions on how to make them work.
