My dell Laptop wont startup on ac adapter

Hi techs, I own an dell xps 15 L502x.. On ac adapter when i click on power button the laptop turns on but the screen is black. But when i disconnect the ac adapter and turn on with the battery it works fine.. That too sometimes i have to remove and put the battery again and again for atleast 3 times and then only it will turn on, The battery actually needs a replacement too.. I can use my laptop without battery, But the problem is that the laptop turns on in ac adapter but the screen is just balck and it doesn't boot.. I have the latest BIOS version installed. What is the problem? And how can i fix it? Previously my laptop hinges were broken, bezels broken and i got replaced it from near dell store, The hinges where replaced but the bezels have been reworked. I got this power issue couple of days after fixing this hinges and bezel problems..

Sounds like you just need to replace the cord

@Danimal1q2w3 The cord seems to work fine, Because when i re-plug the ac adapter after switching on with the battery. The laptop starts charging the battery as usual..

um... if this issue started after you had it fixed take it back and make them fix it right. that is what you paid them for....
