my headphone mic is not being detected by my laptop

I have a G230 Logitech headphone and am trying to connect it to my Acer laptop. I bought an audio splitter adapter. I hear the sound through the headphones but my mic is not being detected. Can anyone help solve my problem?

please provide appropriate information.
All you've told us is your headset model and that you have an Acer laptop. but we have no idea what model laptop so we have no idea how it's audio inputs are set up.
