Hi there I own a hp dv6 laptop it's been in storage for a while now and I finally got the time to fix it.

I took it apart and cleaned it from dust and and replaced the tharmel paste.

Now for the problem, the laptop keeps getting stuck on starting windows screen, I assumed that the problem was related with heat but rn it seems like the computer is running cool.

I've started it on safe mode and deleted the GPU driver the computer started after but when I reinstalled the driver it won't turn on.

could the GPU be dead?
Is there anything else that might make it stuck? Hard drive? Reinstalling windows?

I'm helpless and begging for help, thank you! :)

Re-installing Windows would be my first pick since you don't have to replace anything do to that. Past that the DV6 models are well know for failing on the video card.

I did that yesterday, it didn't work.

I've disabled the GPU via device manager, the computer is working now (without a GPU obviously).

Thank you a lot tho
