Solved! My HP laptop will pick up wifi from all over the neighborhood but wont recognize mt Galaxy9 hotspot

Will not connect to hotspot. But it recognizes 12 other hotspots from the area. My wifes kindle recognizes and connects to the hotspot

It happens, I have seen systems not be compatible with certain hotspots from devices. See if there are any wireless driver updates on HP support site for your model.

It worked fine up to the other day, so this is a new developement.

Was there a phone or laptop update before the issue happened? You can try doing a system restore to a time before the issue using a Windows restore point.

Also try forgetting that connection and connect to it again. I take it you rebooted the phone as well?

I've reset the computer, reset networks, reset phone, did the forget thing multiple times. I am going to try the system restore now
