My keyboard can't seem to keep up the speed when I type, it pauses while I am typing like it is resting.

I type about 60 words per minute and the keyboard, for some reason, pauses. I have a game keyboard, it hasn't had any problems at all until last week I had that blue screen that said my account is being compromised and I should call this particular number ( which I didn't). I called Microsoft. Well, this is what I got AFTER I spoke to them. The keyboard will not backspace quickly. Nor will it type double letters without stopping or 'pausing'. Should I get a new keyboard or can this one be set to typing speed? I can't find the setting for it.
