my keyboard keeps typing the same letter

when i press "m" on my keyboard it keeps on registering the letter "m" mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm


-also other letters on my keyboard are not working

what should i do with this?

Replace the keyboard. Something is wrong with the key matrix; that's not something you can really fix.

Thankfully keyboards are generally cheap (unless it's a backlit keyboard).

Can you use the factory recovery and test again? (Back up your data first if you do this.)

Go to Network adapters in your device manager find the bluetooth network adapter go to power management and turn off "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". You will have to do this every time windows pushes and update so don't forget.

the problem lies with your charger. Unplug the charger and try typing.

Same happens to me, I type in "n" and then it goes "n--------------------------------------------------" non-stop, cleaned out the keyboard and everything. Haven't seemed to think of anything else, works fine with a wireless keybaord. Sometimes, it stops this but it is mainly when I start up my computer and when it is on for around 30 minutes, it will do that to certain letters such as "j" "n" and will constantly just spam "------------------------------" afterwards.

Keyboard keys spamming[SOLVED]
Hi guys, just found a solution for the same issue hence posting here.
My 'p' key was spamming the moment i started typing anywhere on the laptop
Things I did:
1. I did a complete virus scan but no result.
2. Hp support assistant but no result
3 uninstalled my game - no result.
what worked for me is the F2 key which made me look into the system diagnosis. I did a keyboard scan but it was fine as the issue is not with the laptop keypads. Then I did a system diagnosis which comes in the F2 option key. I restarted the system and voila!! the 'p' key stopped spamming.
I was searching for safe mode but accidentally went to f2 which is system diagnosis and it worked for me.
My conclusion:
I think its something to do with cache memory in the system. I think drying out your laptop battery completely and maybe removing it if possible would also work.
Before you guys think of reinstalling the OS, or buy a new keyboard, just try these methods too.
