My laptop has no sound and my HDMI cord is plugged in but no working.

My Laptop has no sound, when I restarted it, there was sound for about 2 minutes and it cut out, I have tried going into the speaker audio thing, but nothing works. I need help! Also, My HDMI cord has been plugged in correctly and nothing is working. The tv just says no signal. I need help. It worked with tape around it but there is none. so now I am stuck without netflix,sound or television please help!!

It's not damaged it is perfectelly fine. we put the tape there so it would stick to inside of the hdmi port.
