I cannot detect my home wifi network on my laptop but I am able to connect to my wifi using my phone or desktop or even other laptop. The issue is therefore a laptop specific one, but I am not able to figure out why. I use that laptop everyday and have never had a similar problem before. Any tips?

Solution
Look at the Properties>Advanced in Control Panel>Device Manager. It may be as simple as one of the settings is wrong.

If either of the two or three entries is Disabled, change that.

Thank you for your reply. I really wish it was as simple as that. I tried all the "obvious" solutions...

Sorry but years of writing on forums has taught me to get the basics done first. Assuming you can see the network in the list of availables, does it show an IPV4 address in the Properties?

Without knowing what constitutes "obvious solutions", it's hard to make a suggestion. Sometimes it's best to change form Private to Public even if only for an experiment.
