my laptop is not picking up wifi signals

my wifi is not working properly when i m very close t the router it conncets and show very low signals and when i move just away from router it did not catch any sgnals.
But my other devices did connect far away from router.
i tried to update the wifi drivers but it wont work.
i reinstalled windows.but if i tried to uninstal driver it automatically installs by itself.
Can u plz help me to solve me the problem

If it picks up weak signals when next to the router, then the card works, just perhaps not well. If updating the drivers doesn't work, then you may have a defective card.

i think the driver is not installing completly when i uninstall the drivers they automatically repair itself and when i update the driver the installaion process said finished whithout complete installing drivers.

i solved the problem a cable is not connected with internal wifi card....
