My laptop power button doesn't work right.

I have an hp laptop and I have had it for less than a year, but there is one thing that bothers me. I will get it from my room (off the charger) and try to turn it on. The various lights flicker but it takes many tries to actually get it to come on. Sometimes even hours for the power to come on. A power button should work the first time.

So if it less then year old turn it in for warranty.

Either the laptop has a seperate power button board that needs replaced, or it needs the whole motherboard replaced.
