My laptop screen is broken and I have been connecting in to an tv screen but when I loaded it today the screen was white and the only buttons that work are esc and enter because a black box is show on the screen help?

Is the HDMI cable completely plugged in? If it accidentally fell out that would explain why it isn't working. Check and see if it is completely plugged in.
