My laptop switches off when i play games even when there is no overheating?

Whenever i play games my laptop switches off when i play games.I checked my fan and all there is no overheating is it due to a software issue?
Please help..

How do you know there is no over heating? You need to check the CPU/GPU temps, not just the fan

Try SpeedFan...
Though its made to optimize fan speed it checks the GPU temp. and shows it....
Also try updating video card drivers
