My lenovo y700 shuts down when playing games

My laptop has an HDD and an SSD. When playing games from the SSD, the laptop has never shut down. Playing games from my HDD does cause it to shut down. I tried it by moving Skyrim between my SSD and HDD and well it shuts down while i played it from my HDD. The game that always crashed is Battlefield 4, but i cant move that to my SSD because i dont have enough space. I've checked the HDD with software and it said is was fine. Could it really be just my HDD? The max temp the cpu or gpu has ever gone up to was 67c.

If it is only that 1 game, have you tried uninstall it and reinstalling it.

I have tried that thinking it was just a bad install, but it actually shuts down on all the games that are downloaded to the HDD

My best suggestion is to buy a new hdd as it is badly corrupted as it crashes when it is downloading things. The only thing I can think of doing is to test the hdd for any bad sectors using the disk cleanup tool in windows.

Okay so i just got my new HDD and installed it, started to download battlefield 4 on it, and it shut down -_-
lets see if it shuts down while i play
edit: it shut down -_-

Then it could be the bracket that holds the hdd is corrupt or broken in someway.

Okay, so very late update but i bought an SSD this time and it works! No more shutting down!
