One minute, it was working fine with both my PS3 and Sky HD box plugged into two different HDMI ports, the next it wasn't. I left my daughter in the lounge so she may have pressed something, but she promises that she didn't. Now the TV just says no signal. I have tried all the usual turning it off and on again, swapping HDMI ports on the TV, I even tried to plug my laptop into the thrid port, but the TV still did not recognize this. I have also just connected my TV to the web and updated the software, but it still doesn't recognize anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't afford a new TV.

a bit off topic, but if you have problems with LG (or any other) screen not recognizing signal from hdmi input properly, check the type of signal. in my case it was pc graphic adapter settings. little changes like is it 1080i or 1080p, or or settings of color depth, or scaling... can virtually led to you losing picture on tv. find appropriate settings and you will have perfect picture. set it up badly, and you will see only "no signal" (although tv will recognize that input exists)

Don't bake your motherboard it's ridiculous if it only won't connect to one particular device type...

Go to settings and in setup (reset the TV settings to new)
You'll have to set the TV up again! meaning putting all of your wifi settings back, channel scanning and account logins but after I did this a computer I have running HDMI DID CONNECT (as soon as I did this)..trust me after a week of fighting with it I wanted to bake my board too it's a firmware issue..(they may have changed terms of conditions that you have to agree to.)

same problem here! Today none of the HDMI are working. Model: LG475500.
I did the unplugged just for 15 minutes it didnt worked..
restore factory setting it didnt worked..
im gonna try a few hours unplugged..

i remember something similar happened to my printer Epson back in 2004-2005. one day suddenly stop working.. and then i read that some companies put something like a "timer" that kills the artifact or the firm in the artifact, in this case the printer, and with some software and resetting it came alive again..

it could be something similar??

anyway baking the motherboard its gonna be the last step.. im afraid of melt the pcb in the motherboard or overheat some capacitor or anything like that..

same as everyone else, LG tv purchased late 2011.
Accidentally hit tv button on remote before shutting off.
When turned back on, didn't recognize any hdmi signals.
Unplugged for 15 minutes,.. All is good!

The same thing has happened to my LG 60PK590. My Chromecast, Apple TV and PS4 are all connected and have been since purchase. All of a sudden a few days ago all I see is that No Signal cube bouncing up and down. I really need a fix for this because I spent over a thousand on this when it was brand new in 2010. I do not want my money going to waste!!

I had the same problem with my 42" LG from 2010. I can confirm that the oven did the trick! The directions were spot on, just take it slow and carefully. Just to be extra sure, I set the oven to 390 and 12 minutes (just had to make sure the board solder melted enough and also, I didn't want to have to take it apart a second time). Just be super careful when removing from the oven. There are some rubber bumpers and protectors on the back that have glue and can come loose. Fired the TV up and all components work!

Side note: my wife thought I was nuts, so I was really crossing my fingers that it would work. :pt1cable:

Same problem with my LG TV (32LD490), purchased in 2011 - all 3 HDMI ports have stopped working. Have tried a factory reset and different HDMI cables, didn't work. Have now unplugged the TV for a while, if that doesn't work will try the baking method; TV is out of warranty so I guess there's nothing to lose!

Interesting that so many people have problems with LG TVs from that period, that is enough evidence to ensure my next TV purchase isn't LG!

I've got a problem with the HDMI ports that's slightly different. ALL the ports work with my DirecTV DVR, but NONE work for my Bluray DVD. Just stopped working yesterday. I switched cords, but no go. The TV is a 42LD550 (July 2010). The BD player is an LG BP220. The Composite on the BD player worked, so I thought the HDMI on the BD player was the problem. Bought a Sony BD player and same problem. The TV shows something is connected to the port, but I get the "No Signal". Hooked each BD player to my other TV (Samsung) and BOTH worked fine.

How can this be???

Hey there.
baking worked for me as well, for about 3 months. It just went out again.

What i am wondering is if i can somehow get a DTV signal through the coax. Over the air digital works fine on the TV and i get 1080i for CTV here in Ottawa, so the Digital signal is working. Is there a way to convert an HDMI to a coax? THen i would just get a HD receiver and plug all my components into that, and simply use the TV as a monitor through the HDMI to Coax converted input.

THoughts?

I have an LG LED TV that we bought in 2011 and the resetting the ps3 and using component thing worked for me when the Hdmi ports stopped working about a year ago. Now the component ports stopped working as well, so I literally cannot connect anything to my TV. The only thing that works are antenna public TV channels.....

Another LG TV failing with the same problem....

42LE7500. Manufactured in late 2010 and purchased in Jan. 2011. All 4 HDMI inputs failed suddenly with "No Signal" error about a week ago, after 4 years, 10 months.

Recommendation from LG Support (in Spain) was a firmware upgrade (even though the firmware on their support page is older than that on the TV) so skipped that. Now need to contact the local official technical support. Not inclined to spend too much fixing an obvious design/fabrication flaw - may be time to UPGRADE to a Samsung TV!

Same here, LG50PK790 purchased in Sep/Oct 2010. Just getting 'no signal' on all HDMI ports. I've tried to reset etc but ot no avail.

Am tempted by the baking method but it does sound like an internet hoax/p*sstake that I might not be getting! I did contact LG but they said the new board required would be £250 plus labour...no thanks.

I spoke to an AV nerd at a reconditioned parts place (who said I'd be very lucky to find parts for this model - or words to that effect) and he said I could set up a work around by using a component converter and HDMI switchbox. Has anyone tried this?

He gave me the info that this happens if you change the HDMI cables while the power is on any of the items as it deliberately corrupts the code/signal between devices.

I also won't be getting another LG! To be honest it would be less hassle to get a new TV but that one was so expensive that I'm loathe to do so.

I just experienced the same issue with my 4-year-old LG 47LE5500. I called LG support, asked for the supervisor, and promptly go no where. They're going to charge me a flat rate of $199 to come out and fix it.

I Had the same problem with 40LD650.

1.Reason
it's happening because the main processor joints to motherboard due solder balls. These tiny bumps of solder become brittle as exposed to extreme temperature fluctuation. But in my case it's was because of manufacture cooling issues.
2.Solutions
a)try bake whole motherboard in oven at 385 degrees for 10 minutes
b)second way and it's what i did. I used industrial hair dryer directly above processor chip at the small distance for about 40sec. And this solution worked for me.

Hope, it will be usefull for you guys.

Baking the board actually works. I had the same issue. 4 hdmi ports stopped all of a sudden. I was going to buy a new tv when i found this blog and my wife said to try it. So on the oven went took the back of the tv took photos and pulled out the board. Baked it for 8 minutes at 200 degrees and now my tv is back to normal. I cannot believe that this has worked. Lg 42 inch june 2010 model.
