One minute, it was working fine with both my PS3 and Sky HD box plugged into two different HDMI ports, the next it wasn't. I left my daughter in the lounge so she may have pressed something, but she promises that she didn't. Now the TV just says no signal. I have tried all the usual turning it off and on again, swapping HDMI ports on the TV, I even tried to plug my laptop into the thrid port, but the TV still did not recognize this. I have also just connected my TV to the web and updated the software, but it still doesn't recognize anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't afford a new TV.

Just want to add another successful repair story. Had exactly the same problem with the HDMI connections previously described in these posts. LG 42LE5350 purchased in early 2011. The oven baking of the Mother Board worked exactly as described. I would encourage anyone to read instructions on the linked website and give it a try. Not all that difficult for anyone who can use an oven and a screwdriver...

Now we'll see just how long it lasts!

Holy hell, Zedic's motherboard baking solution worked for me too! I'm not sure how old my LG 42LD550 is (2011 sounds about right), but all the HDMI ports crapped out on 12/23/15 and I assumed it was time for a new TV. Found Zedic's instructions and, consequently, this thread and after looking through all the positive responses I figured "Why the hell not?"

My cable, DVD and Apple TV are all working again.

I will say this...the line in Zedic's directions that says "It may smell a little funky when cooking" is a bit of an understatement. We kind of thought we were going to die for about an hour. Ha! Open some windows, y'all!!!

Thank you so much for your solution!!!! Other than the noxious fumes I inhaled, it worked like a charm!!!

Adding one more TV on this list. My late 2010 42LE5500 has stopped taking signal from all of the 4 HDMI ports. As experienced by others, AV and component is working as usual. I'll open my tv inside out to see if I can do something. Baking doesn't seems right to me but hair dryer solution looks good to me.

About 4 months ago my husband and I ran into this same problem. Our LG tv was purchased in November 2010, model 47LD650. The HDMI port where the PS4 was connected also showed a no signal. At first we thought the PS4 was broken and I was literally almost in tears >.< Anyway, LG told us that the tv was no longer compatible with the PS4 so we connected the PS3 and that too wasn't compatible. We connected the Wii U with the component cables and after 2 weeks that started showing a no signal. The tv could no longer support any game console whatsoever, not even with component cables. LG was absolutely ZERO help and the tv was no longer under warranty so we had nothing to lose. It took us a while to get the courage to try the baking method. We were so scared to try because the tv still worked with the cable box. Anyway, we baked the mother board at 385 degrees for 10 minutes and it actually worked!!!!! All HDMI ports work again!! It was really easy to remove the MB too. I assisted my husband and the two of us did it fairly quickly. It took about an hour since we let the MB cool for a good 30 mins. I'm glad we tried it!!

Add my 47" (47LE5400) purchased in Dec 2010 to the list. Same thing as everyone else- none of the HDMI connections worked, but the antenna and component video works. Seems to be a common problem with this era of LG televisions. Replacement boards are non existent and I'm not going to waste my time calling LG for support. I'm not going to bake the board (only because we're moving soon and don't want to scare away potential buyers with a house smelling like a meth lab). I am probably going to try and heat it with a heat gun on a low setting and see if that works.

I was just given an LG 42inch tv (5900-AV) for free because the 4 HDMI ports dont work.

I spoke with a computer repair specialist and he said it seems to be an LG software issue and that the only option for them was to replace the main board at.... £250 plus labour! I checked on eBay and £25 you can get the part but with a big question mark of 'can i do it myself'.

Good luck

I can't believe how easy this was and that it works!! Same as everyone else, I have an LG 50PZ550 and all 4 HDMI inputs died.
I baked the board per http://zedic.com/lg-42dl550-fix-repair/ and she's working like new!! Took me maybe an hour start to finish and the best part was that it cost ZERO $$$!

The only snafu I ran into was when I reconnected the board, I didn't get the ribbon cable in straight and had to take it all apart again.

Thanks be to the inter-web!!!

I had the exact problem with my LG LE5400 TV. Initially there was symptoms of grains and then suddenly one day it completely stoped working. Surprisingly the FiOS tv was working fine with any HDMI input port, but Apple TV FireTV BD player nothing was working. I called up LG and they asked ~$300 for repair and 60days warrenty. One thing was hunting me how come the FiOS is working no other device is not working. Must be something simple but silly. The "Baking" tric really worked. I realized after reading this blog that the location where my TV is placed is just in line with the AC inlet duct and whenever there is rain or snow or temperature is cold this grain symptoms would come. It is certainly pointing to dry solder. I really appreciate the solution and solution provider. It worked as recommended.

Big thankyou.

Hello everyone, yesterday I was having trouble with my LG TV and not recognizing the HDMI ports. I found that the receiver that everything is connected to was not receiving enough power, once I plugged the receiver into a separate power source everything was fine. So before you do anything to drastic or get a new TV be sure to check that everything is receiving the correct amount of power.

I had exactly the same problem now all I had to do was check the power source of my receiver. This might not fix every one's problem but I changed the power outlet the receiver was plugged into and the signal came back

It probably wasn't the fact that you put the part in the oven, but the fact that you disconnected it and reconnecting it!

I have an answer for the LG HDMI component. Yesterday I was totally frustrated. I did not have any sound on my LG 42 (2010 vintage). I foolishly saw the headphone port and used a headphone jack inserted in the port. Wrong move. Flimsy unit on the main board. The jack was removed. The port became loose. The television still recognized the jack was still in port. Therefore the sound was gone forever. DO NOT USE THE HEADPHONE PORT. To continue I had to purchase a main board. A refurbished board came. I installed. Turned TV on No Signal. Looked on internet for solution saw all of the complaints. Got even more frustrated. I heard about baking main board. But I had a refurbished 90 day warranty main board and I experienced the same frustration 50 other people complained about. I was on the phone with Dish chat line- no solution still and always no signal' So I looked at the old board and after another 6 hours of purchasing cables. No Signal.
Here is the happy part. My LG 4200 with refurbished board now works. Answer: Forget about the HDMI ports. They do not work. Instead think old fashioned. THE 5 Multi colored ports. Blue Green Red all for video. Red and White for audio. They are called Component Ports. And chances are they have never been used so the circuitry should be intact. Go to any electronic store RS BB etc. Buy Component cables. Split two packages one has three. Other has three. Store will help you. Go home. I unplugged TV and Dish Hopper. First I connected to TV and then to Hopper. I did video first to both then audio to both. It still did not work.. I was really getting PERTURBED. I called DISH SUPPORT AGAIN. He said what port is it in I said HDM!. He said tell me what you see. The Component Port was Highlighted. EUREKA!!!! I am now very happy I hope you will be too. The best part No Baking

A SOLUTION THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME - LESS 3D - HDMI to VGA converter with Audio out - Non Powered & HDMI Switch.

For those with the HDMI failure issues, you will find only the very best hdmi to component RGB converters work well. There are color and clarity issues with non-powered devices, that much I know. I have not tried powered component converters because well, this damn TV is finicky enough and don't want to risk it.

On our TV LG 47LW6500 (LW6500 Series), all 4 HDMI ports died, we're on a pure sine wave battery back up so it wasn't a surge and I'm starting to believe this is a defect. I can confirm after the HDMI ports failed; the coax TV input, component RGB and VGA input all work fine. We have received zero help from LG regarding this issue after numerous discussions and references to the many others online who seem to be experiencing similar issues.

OUR SOLUTION:
$13 HDMI to VGA Converter w/ Audio Out - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VTJVJ3S/ref=sr_rp_1?m=A36PN40E750046&ie=UTF8&qid=1458757051&sr=sr-1&keywords=vga+hdmi+converter

This HDMI to VGA converter works without an external power source which I am cautious about, because I don't want to damage the HMDI port on my other devices. On my specific TV, the VGA input also has a standard stereo 3.5mm input jack right next to it, which works with the audio output on the converter. I have tested this with a PS4, Amazon Fire Stick and other devices all of which look sharp, clear and with no color or clarity issues. My TV also has an optical out, so not only does the sound come through the TV speakers, but you can also pipe it through your receiver via an optical audio cable. Granted the input is only stereo, but it's certainly better than nothing.

MULTIPLE HDMI CONNECTIONS:
I then purchased a good quality automatic 3 port HDMI switch which gave me the ability to keep my other devices connected. $33 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Zettaguard-High-Speed-Wireless-Control-ZW310/dp/B01BV1XBHK?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

This solution worked for me and obviously, try these suggestions at your own risk. However, it certainly seems less risky than dismantling your TV, removing and baking a component in the oven and then using that device in your home. That is not something I would want to do.

One last point of caution I would like to note. The VGA to HDMI converter is a rigid device and a VGA cable is quite thick, so any stressed movement could potentially break the HDMI port this is connected to. I highly recommend using a short Male/Female HDMI cable extender to take the stress off the HDMI output from your device. I used the one that came with the Fire TV Stick, it's similar to the following link, just shorter and it takes the stress off the port. You would only need one. http://www.amazon.com/Extension-Extender-Supports-Television-Xbox360/dp/B00B2HOKKQ/ref=pd_sim_147_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=410gSVxKVeL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0ZZSEZ3ZZJ8QZN8C5MF7

Finally, the only one problem I now have is I lost the ability to display 3D content which really annoys me. We enjoy 3d movies and gaming and this TV at first, was a great solution; too bad. In the end for us, it was a $13 dollar single connection solution or $48 total for multiple devices. I hope this helps anyone in the same boat.

Hi everyone,

my model 42le8500 didn't recocnize any HDMI 2 days ago. I tried the baking method. Now it's completely gone to heaven... No picture anymore, even no menue. Does anyone has the correct name of the board? I don't want to pay so much money (in germany its about 233 Euro incl. tax) so i decided to order ist somewhere in china, korea, or whereever. But without the correct identification of the board i see no chance. Has anyone an idea?
