Sounds like something didn't install correctly, or something was installed that shouldn't have been.
First thing I would suggest is trying to launch the phone in "Safe Mode". Then, if it loads fine, you know it was something that was updated. I would then remove any updates you just did (while still in "Safe Mode") and then restart the phone. It should start fine after that.
To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.
1. First turn off the phone.
2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.
3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.
4. If you wanted disable safe mode, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see "Safe Mode: Off" rather than On.
If this doesn't work, then you will want to do a "Factory Reset". For this you would need to locate the little pinhole on the phone. Use a pen or other small object to depress this pinhole button and allow the phone to reset itself. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do Not use anything sharp in the pinhole as you could damage the device. Also, some items/personal data 'may' be removed during this type of reset.
