My phone isn't turning on

My samsung phone isn't turning on at all... let me give you this thing thats written on my front page of my guide booklet. GT-S6310N <--- That is... I put my phone in charge i think for long or i don't know if my charge broke or something.. I'm terribly scared of my phone getting damaged. 🙁 Please tell me if my phone is ok... 🙁

Take out the battery, then put it back in, when starting hold the start button down for a long time - see what happens - if the battery refuses to charge you need a new battery
