my Samsung tablet won't hold a charge

My tablet charged overnight, and has dried in 1 hour and a half.

How old is it? Could the battery be bad?

do you keep a lot of background apps running? I have this problem and apps like facebook tend to drain charge. However, if it is a Samsung and has been turned off for a while, this affects battery and then it drains the charge. Either get a new tablet battery or make sure all background apps are turned off.
