My sd card is corrupted so it's not showing on my pc. How can I back up my files to my pc then?

My sd card is corrupted but I don't want to lose the files on the card. I want to back up to my pc before I format it. How can I do that?

If it is corrupted, there is nothing to backup.
How do you know it corrupted?
