My Stolen laptop

Hello,
I am Piyush from UP India. I was using Sony Vio lappy. but between 14 to 16 sep, 2012 it stolen by someone may be office staff. Can I trace my Laptop by myself or only police man have authority to search. I am very upset please help me.

Unless you've installed tracing software prior to it being stolen you've got next to know chance of finding it. Your only option is the police.
