My toshiba satelite c655

wont boot up goes to the toshiba page then to a black on and says check cable connection no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key..didnt come with boot disk what can i do???

The hard drive may have died (failed), in which case it will have to be replaced.

To check for drive failure, test it with Hitach Drive Fitness Test for DOS which loads from a bootable CD.

You can create a CD from the CD Image File with IMGBurn from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/
then boot your Toshiba laptop from that CD and the drive testing utility will open.
