NCAA in HD

Glad to see CBS is doing most of the NCAA tournament in HD. We're having
some technical problems here in St. Pete, with the picture freezing and the
sound going away intermittently. But hopefully that will be ironed out
pretty quickly. There was a similar thing with American Idol on Fox last
night here.

most of it? i wasn't home this afternoon, but so far tonight, it looks like
the only venue in hd so far is tuscon...what other games have been in hd
today? one cool thing is that the hd feed showed the tuscon game while the
regular feed showed what's being given to our area...i'm impressed by that
as i was banking on being screwed with no hd unless our local game happened
to be in hd

I, for one, was disappointed that my regional game wasn't in HD (UT vs.
Nevada)...

Here in Austin (University of Texas home town), the UT vs. Nevada game was
not only not in HD, it wasn't on at all. The paper had said it would be on
CBS but there was another game on and only the UT/Nevada score in the upper
left-hand corner of the screen.

Here in Columbus, Ohio, Time Warner is separating the signal of the HD
channel to show all the games on 4 digital channels for the first weekend
games and the Thursday and Friday games of the 2nd weekend.

CBS HD in LA was showing different games than CBS SD yesterday. Very
nice, as I got a chance to see my alma mater, Villanova, beat New Mexico
in HD. The HD signal broke up a bit at the end of the Vermont - Syracuse
thriller, but picture was great most of the time.

"Here in Columbus", Time Warner is carrying WBNS's feed, NOT
"separating the signal of the HD channel". Do NOT give credit where
credit is not due! WBNS is broadcasting the NCAA tournament action on
channels 10.2-WBNSSD1, 10.3-WBNSSD2, 10.4-WBNSSD3, and 10.5-WBNSSD4.
Note that, as a result, it is NOT broadcasting ANY games in HD on
10.1-WBNSHD so far.
