In general laptops are not upgradable.

I have intel pentium B940 dual core 2.0 ghz cpu (Socket)
and i am thinking about to buy AMD FX 6300 cpu for my laptop.

That is impossible.

1) you have an Intel motherboard which can't fit an AMD CPU
2) there is no AMD motherboard for your laptop
3) the FX CPU is a desktop CPU which will not work in a laptop
4) the only AMD CPUs for laptops are the A or E series CPUs

there were two other CPU used in your laptop using a Socket PGA988

i3-2350M
i5-2410M

the only thing is I was not able tofind out if they used the same motherboard
