Need a good laptop for around 900£

Can anyone advise me on a good all round laptop for up to 900 pounds. Im not sure if i should go for a sony or a macbook. Would appreciate any guidance.

Ok the laptop will be used for office, watching hd movies, not for gaming. The screen size would be the largest available. Would like to play blu rays. I just dont understand why something like the macbook air has such a high price with seemingly low specs like core 2 duo. On the other hand i see a sony for 950 with a i7 processor, am i missing something.

The reason that MBA is expensive is because of build quality,slimness,battery life,and super fast HDDs and an excellent display.
Anyway,Dell XPS 17 is a good choice

Ok i see, so i dont need to worry to much about the processor and ram. Its just that the i7 seemed way better than core 2 duo. But to be honest i dont know anything about computers, just what ive heard. So mac is superior build.
