Need a New laptop

Hi everyone,

I'm a civil engineering student from Canada and i'm looking for a new computer. I don't play much games, but sometimes I use autocad, Sketchup, Catia, etc. I use visual studio, mathlab and excel with VBA very often.
I really need some help to choose a laptop. Lenovo, msi or Asus are my favorite. I need a laptop that doesn't weight and size much.
Actually, I saw the new lenovo thinkpad yoga and just fall in love it, do you think it can be a good choise ? it has the Intel HD Graphics 4400

Well, what kind of money do you want to spend?

Engineering won't require much. Either will AutoCAD. But especially for AutoCAD you should get an i7 and a discrete Graphics card

It's pretty sure that i will buy a laptop with i7 processor and windows 8.1. The problem is that I want something like Lenovo yoga (touch, flipping, with a tablet mode). Is it possible? I rarely need autocad

Then you should go with the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga, if you're looking for sort of a tablet transformation. It also had really good reviews which help.

I think the yoga is good for programming and excel but don't know about matlab. It is very cpu intensive and don't know if the yoga can handle it.
