Well I'll be going off to college this fall and I need to get a laptop... I've said no to desktops becausei need it to be portable obiv... but I can't decide between these two laptops. One is the Asus G55vw and the other is the MSI GE60.

My budget is nothing over $1.4k and nothing bigger than a 15.6" screen.

I am a gamer and I intend to be playing Dota2, Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, TF2, CS:GO, and etc. Will these notebooks be able to play these on full settings? Also, I'll be undergoing a degree for graphic design, so I'll be expecting to use the adobe programs. I want this laptop to keep up for years to come.

I don't know a ton about computers but I could be qualified as a novice... if you have any other recommendations feel free to throw some out.

Battlefield 3 will be the only title listed you wont be able to completely max out, but it will still play well at higher settings.

I would also look at the clevo/sager models. I would also highly recommend you consider putting ~1k into a desktop for gaming and the rest into a light and inexpensive notebook for your class notes etc. Those are 7lb laptops you are going to be lugging around and I think you will find that will get old fast.

Sooooo with the Asus I won't be able to upgrade my processor and gfx card in the long run? Which is what the Sager will allow me to do? I do like the fact that the Sager will let me get it without branding! :p

I've come down to 2 laptops now...

get the sager and upgrade to a 7970m. the 7970m is more powerful than 580's in sli and draws much less power. im trying to stay away from the word 'future-proof' but the 7970m is much more power than the 660 or 670 and you won't be getting outdated anytime soon, plus when the time comes you can upgrade the sager yourself. :sol:
