I just need a laptop for general school work and gaming, plan on buying either today or tomorrow. I would like to play titles like "Shadow of Mordor" and similar future games on high settings.

I am leaning towards these options:
Lenovo Y50"

ASUS ROG GL551 series GL551JM-DH71 :

Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-74LK

ASUS N550JK-DS71T

I am comfortable with the website Newegg, they always have decent deals. This link will let you filter price range from $750-$1,000. From those options what looks best?

If you have any other websites with good deals feel free to link it of course, thanks!

These 3 laptops look like the best ones from Newegg in your budget.

Ya if I buy the refurbished version of that i7 Lenovo y50 I save $100. This is what I will probably buy, unless I go with the i5 version to same another $50 or so, but the one you linked is being offered as a 16 GB version on Newegg...so hmmm...interesting.
