If you want to produce quality YouTube videos you MUST get a separate microphone. The ones built into gaming headsets are just downright awful. Get something like a Blue Snowball, Blue Yeti or Rode NT-USB microphone. They offer significantly better recording quality than the ones built into headsets.
If you are going for a separate microphone, you might want to consider good headphones rather than a headset. They usually offer better sound quality at a lower price. Especially because the "gaming" branding usually does nothing but bump up the price.
If you still want to get a gaming headset, you should definitely look into the HyperX Cloud gaming headset. It has good sound quality and the microphone really isn't that bad. Although for YouTube it probably isn't the best option, it sure is cheap for an all in one package.
