need help chosing an IDE hard drive for my old laptop

ok so my uncle bought me a working compaq armada sb laptop from a thrift store for 6 dollars he tested it and cleaned it and it has a 3gig hard drive in it but no os i did some googling and found it came with windows 3.11 since im not so tech save whats a decent size ide hard drive i can put in to install windows 3.11 on id like to go at least 20 gigs as i have lots of old dos games to put on the pc to tinker with for fun so help me chose a hard drive thanks oh and the laptop has a pentium 1 mmx 200 MHz and 96 megs ram max and a floppy drive no cd rom

I had a Pentium MMX 200MHz with 64MB RAM and it came with a 1.2GB hard drive. You may or may not be surprised at how small those programs are. If they came on floppy disks, think 2MB (if they were compressed on the disk).

Also you're probably limited to FAT16 and therefore 4GB drives. So... yeah, I'd leave it alone and not dump *any* money into this project.

96 megs of ram and as of now i have 8 dos games on the way home from ebay
