Need help connecting Toshiba TV to Sony Receiver

I have a Sony receiver for my sound system model STR-D350Z and a Toshiba 55G310U. I was able to get the speakers to work with the radio so I know the receiver is working. I just can’t get the sound to work via the speakers when watching TV. I know it is possible because it worked in my old house. I just wasn’t smart enough to label the wires before I disconnected them. Please help!!

Your TV has an optical audio output that has to be turned on in the TV menu and set to PCM out. The TV speakers may have to be turned off too..
Your Sony has analog audio inputs so you would have had to have an optical to analog converter. That would connect to any line level input on the Sony.
