Hi everyone, I basically want a laptop for gaming, I want to play games like Skyrim on ultra settings.
I've decided on a Clevo P170SM but I'm not sure about how to customise it.
I've looked around and this seems to be the best website that I can find for buying the laptop PCSpecialist

The specs that I decided on are these:

What I was wondering is whether the 4700MQ cpu is adequate, or should I go with the 4800MQ. I was also wondering whether 8GB of RAM is enough or do I need 16? Also, do I need the GTX 780M graphics card or is the GTX 770M good enough?

Is this a good laptop in this price range, or is there a better laptop that I've overlooked? Also, is this the best place to buy this laptop from in the UK?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I see many issues in here:

-Firewire port? Unless free, don't bother.
-Sound card? Unless free on the motherboard, don't bother.
-Extra thermal paste? Why?.
-i7? Not needed for just gaming. An i5 works just as well and is cheaper.
-2 x 240GB Kingston SSD in RAID0? Why? A single 256 Samsung or similar gives the same space, same or better performance, less chance of fail.

I appreciate your reply.

Yes, the firewire port an sound card are free and can't be removed.

I can't find a laptop with an i5 cpu that has a gtx 780m gpu. I've not looked that hard but I guess since an i7 isn't necessary I might as well go with the cheapest i7 processor they offer?

I don't know much about SSD's, I just figured that two 240GB SSD's are considerably cheaper than one 480GB, so I might as well get it. The site doesn't offer any Samsung SSD's in the configuration options.
I thought that a '256 Samsung' had 256GB storage space but the two Kingstons had 480GB total storage space, am I missing something?

Thanks again for your reply, much appreciated.

There's an option to opt out of a hard drive altogether, would I be better off just buying the laptop with no storage space and then buying one of the 256GB Samsung SSD's you mentioned and installing it myself?

OK thank you very much, I guess I'll pay the extra for the 480GB SSD and leave the second hard drive bay empty.

Oh and regarding the cooling paste or whatever it is, I only picked it because It costs next to nothing (and probably does next to nothing). I thought maybe it would help keep the temperature down a bit.
