Need help in buying a tablet for my father!

I'm looking for a good tablet for my dad. The requirements are not so much, just for browsing the web and watching movies and videos. Please don't suggest iPads, it would go out of budget.

My budget is $300 and screen size around 8 to 10 inch.

Go with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" variant. I'm not sure about its exact price but as far as I know it comes under $300.
Specifications:
RAM - 2 GB
Storage - 16 GB
Processor - Exynos 7870 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor

As you just said that you want it for watching movies and videos, for that it has amoled display which produces bright and rich colors and causes less eye-strain in dark conditions. However, internal storage is quite low but you can add further using a micro sd card.

don't you think the ram is quite low, and my father is already using a samsung smartphone so I think tablet rather than samsung would be better. Thanks for the recommendation though.
