Need help in laptop selection

That's actually not that bad. As long as it's not in the higher 80s and 90s, it'll be fine.

After looking up some laptops and guides, the Y70 actually looks like it's the best on performance and maybe quality. The $800 laptops that I have been looking at don't come close to the Y70's GTX 860m. And with Andreasdig2's confirmation on the temperature, it looks like the best laptop for $800.
Looks like a decent laptop, though it looks like it could overheat easily (based on appearance). Heat of course, is the number one killer of laptops; so it's very important to have good ventilation, which is going to be limited by how thin that laptop is.

I looked at the CPU, and it's about equal with a modern desktop i3 processor; not the best for gaming, but it can handle games fine.

The GPU is good. The laptop could probably do modern games on high (not max), with 40+ FPS, on medium probably around 60+.

NOTE: I'm looking for a laptop now. It might take some research though.
