Need help with laptop issue

Hi something is wrong with my cousins laptop she bought brand new of currys Lenovo yoga 510
and right now something is happening it doesint open any files not even the internet browser and also on start windows she cant shut down the laptop when i move mouse cursor on windows start doesint pop out i kept pressing nothing happens then i press the button to turn off the laptop but it takes ages to turn off the screen shows as off but the light is still on i pressed like 6 minutes ago and it still didint shut down she said she done it too and it took some time for it to be turned off any idea of what can cause?
