1. What is your budget? USD $1500 +- $250
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Prefer 14" up to 15.6"
3. What screen resolution do you want? Not critical for 1080p (unless someone thinks otherwise)
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Speed but portable is important. I have to lug this through airports for work - see below
5. How much battery life do you need? As much as I can get. Sandy bridge is supposed to be key here
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Any games would be on low settings. This laptop is for work
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.) This laptop is for my work. I am a spreadsheet jockey and I also use specialized programs for accountants, including specialized file cabinet software and billing software which runs off of MS sequal server 2005/2008.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? 90GB is more than enough. Definately will be going SSD, any suggestions between say OCZ vertex 2, Corsair Force series or Real C300 series would be appreciated. Also, if 128GB drives are more efficient than say 80 or 90 gb drives, that would be good to know.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. AVA, Sager Direct, really anything is ok. I just cancelled an order through Cyberpowerpc because they were not upfront about availability.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 2 years is my general replacement cycle. Currently using a lenovo x61 tablet and need more processing power
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Work - only need dvd with read/write capability.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. I am open to any suggestion

13. What country do you live in? USA
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. As I indicated, this is for work. New sandybridge CPU's are a must along with SSD. Graphic GPU's are completely secondary - although something with say Optimus where its intelligent enough to turn off and use the Integrated graphics when travelling would also be fine, however, I really don't need and don't want to pay for extreme graphics horsepower. I travel and this laptop will need to go through airports and such so i definately want to keep the weight reasonable, under 6.5 lbs would be mandatory.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated

sager comes with sandybridge $800 basic add an ssd yourself from newegg. buy an os and youll be fhd on the screen. Youll defintly have enough to buy a spare battery on ur budget as well. not out till next month. has optimus in it. battery life on intel is 4-5hours confirmed note on another forum from a retailer of these.

Lenovo Y460 and 560 are shipping out soon should be similar specs to the sager ^ at a good price. not really caught up to sandybridge gotta do a little more research.

The Clevo Sandy bridge models are the

P170HM
P170HM-PS1
P150HM
P150HM-PS1
P151HM
W170HN
W150HNQ

And start at $765 to $1655 BEFORE ya start customizing. Can get from xoticpc.cm as suggested above or I find I save a bit from the site below:

http://www.pro-star.com/index.cfm?mainpage=product&filter=4

The P150HM w/ 8 GB of RAM, 120 GB SSD and Win7 Pro would run ya about $1780 if ya need hot GFX.

The W150HNQ w/ 8 GB and 120 GB Intel SSD and Win Pro 64 would be $1174

I called and spoke with Xotic. Unfortunately, sager will only ship with the intel x-25 ssd. At this point, that drive is showing its age. Xotic indicated that in order to put into it a different SSD (with a SF or il controller) would require them to ship from sager's facility in california to their facility in nebraska. It would cost more ($60 for shipping) and take approximately 2 additional weeks. I haven't seen anything from lenovo - will check them out. I only want SB however, and am not sure when they are rolling out their new SB products
