Need help woth speaker system

i got logictec x540 speakers hook up on my computer.. o also want them to work for my hdtv tooo but the tv only has a optical audio output.. my question is do i need to buy a sound card with optical in to make it work?

Yes, you would hook you're TV to a sound cards optical input jack, and set the output to the X540's.
