Solved! Need help

Hello,
I have a Toshiba satellite A205 laptop that somebody give to me. it doesn't come on. we thought a wire might be off so i had my mom take it a part and that part is fix but other then that i don't know what to do can somebody please help me.

Solution
The most likely suspect is the power adapter. If it died, the battery would have eventually died too.

Either borrow a compatible power adapter or drop into a computer shop and see if they'll just hook it up to see if it at least turns on (they likely would because it's quick and they'd want to sell you one).

Otherwise the problems quite serious and probably not worth fixing considering the cost of repairs versus the price of laptops (you can get a nice laptop for only $500 if you shop around and it could cost you $200 to fix the one you have).

Unless you can easily swap parts on an older laptop it's junk. if it is junk, keep the hard drive at least (unless it's the older ribbon-cable and not SATA).
