Nice to see they're doing this. Hopefully Linux will eventually gain support as well. I like Windows 7, but having Linux as a full-featured alternative for when I want it is important.

2021 is when Microsoft will no longer develop/support Silverlight. Netflix could (and likely will) stop using it well before then

Hopefully they won't be using silverlight6 (if there ever will be such a thing) instead of an open standard.

The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. The frequency with which silverlight crashes when playing Netflix streams is disproportionately high compared to the general reliability of a machine.

Can't complain when they start using web standards. Have they been submitting any guidance to the html5 media api?
