Netflix Targeting Android Next

I love the small market share that android and the iphone has compared with blackberry, yet they get the apps. Although I dont know why Netflix would make one for apple? I bet it gets pulled as soon as apple builds thier own.

They have a C++ based SDK (I think it's called NDK?). It would be the preferred method of video playback considering they'll need to emulate Silverlight in some for or other.

Orb works with all of them. While not the same as netflix or other subscription services, it's certainly worth noting.

Thats what I was thinking "why C++?", android is java based, I have the droid.

[citation][nom]Phate[/nom]C++? I thought the Android was a Java development environment? Am I mistaken?[/citation] Java (or rather Dalvik) is the primary API. It's used for drawing UI and IPC. Developers also can write libs in C/C++/fortran using standard GNU/Linux libs like OpenGL, png, sqlite, zlib, openssl, etc... etc.. those can be later used from Java (Dalvik). Also you can compile existing C programs to run on Android

Ya know I have never used netflix. With their saturation of pop ups, pop unders, pop sideways, pop afters and the most annoying flash based pop over content and resize.

I will NEVER use netflix. I wonder if that is the advertising result they were looking for. I would much rather use a good encoder and a transflash card.

netflix "scheduled to hit the Nintendo Wii sometime this Spring"? yes, if by "scheduled" you mean "did" and "sometime this Spring" means "March 26". C'mon, it was 2 weeks ago, already....
