New flat screen to old surround

How do you hook an old surround sound system to new flat screen TV Toshiba

Without makes and model number I can't give you an exact answer.
The general way would be to use an DAC to convert the optical audio out of the TV to analog.
If the old surround has a digital input but it is the wrong kind (coax RCA or optical) then your would need a converter to make the connection.
