New Headset not working!

I just got a new headset today.

Razer Kraken Pro.

I plugged them in and the sound works perfectly but for some reason , the mic is not working.
My friends on skype can barely hear me and there is alot of static.
I have tried adjusting the level of the boosting in the mic and disabling Studio Mixer, nothing is working. The audio jack is fine as it is a new computer and my last headset worked so I'm hoping someone knows the answer to my problem.

Are you sure it's plugged in the whole way and not obstructed at all? If a microphone jack is plugged in 80% of the way that's usually what happens, you get the voice input but i sounds REALLY distant with lots of static

Did you install any software/driver that came with the headset? I'm not familiar with kraken headsets, but if it came with any software you might want to install that, and if you've already installed it you might want to check the settings....

I did all the things the two of you said.

I'm not sure what you mean when you said 'see if it recognizes it' , I scanned it but nothing happened.

It came with no software but I got a keyboard from the same company before and I downloaded a thing called razer synapse, the headset is meant to automatically connect to razer synapse but it didn't so I'm not sure whats wrong.
