Hello! I want to buy a new laptop with a 2TB hard drive and i want to upgrade it after it arrives with a 256gb ssd nvme. My questions is: How should I install windows 10 on ssd without having it touch the hdd? Should i remove the hdd while I install the win10 on the ssd? And if that works, will I be able to format the hdd after I plug it in? Note: the hdd has freedos. (Will I be able to format the freedos hdd from the win10 ssd and then use win10 on both with the ssd being the boot drive and the hdd being the storage drive) Thanks in advance! :)

Solution
You can just clone the existing setup of Windows to the SSD. If you don't want to do that, when you run the Win 10 setup you will be able to select the disk you install Windows on. Yes you can remove the existing drive first also.
